What are Emotions?

We define Emotion as Energy in motion.

What we THINK of an emotion is actually the EXPERIENCE of energy moving THROUGH our physical body. Amazing, right!?

We also know that events, circumstances and situations are neutral, they do not have any meaning…. until we give them one… So do emotions…

Emotions Are Neutral

Therefore, as soon as we LABEL a situation, as soon as we give meaning to the situation, we originate what we call Feeling. This FEELING is either EXPANDED or CONTRACTED, depending on the meaning we gave to the situation.

Then…..how did we give meaning to the situation?

By using our THOUGHTS.

The power to chose what we want to have in our minds, what we think about. By doing this, we can start managing our emotions. By choosing our thoughts.

In order for us to be able to choose what we think, the first step is AWARENESS.

YES, awareness, as soon as we are AWARE of our thoughts, we have the power to change them, modify them, create new ones…. if we desire.

We want to do this if our thoughts are not contributing to our expansion, growth, joy, love… presuming expanded feelings is what we want.

Thus, after understanding what emotions are and that they can be changed, created and managed, the next step of the process in managing emotions is Awareness of what we are thinking. Once we are aware of what we are thinking we can change our thoughts to expanded ones.
